Video, GIF & Audio

You only need what it sounds like.

Take the audio track out of a video and save it as an MP3 without uploading the source file.

Worth knowing

Choose MP3 because the next thing wants MP3.

This is the direct route when you only need the soundtrack in a familiar, shareable audio format. If the next step is editing, another format may make more sense.

For sharing

MP3 is the practical default.

It is compact and widely accepted for voice notes, music references, uploads and everyday playback.

For editing

Use WAV when you want a cleaner working file.

If you plan to edit, process or re-export the audio several times, a WAV copy avoids adding another lossy step too early.

After extraction

Do the next audio job on the audio, not the video.

Trim it, change the volume, transcribe it or convert the format without dragging the picture along for the ride.
