Image & Photo

Resize or crop this image.

Pick the shape and width you need. OutMonkey makes a new copy and leaves your original untouched.

Good to know

Use the destination’s shape first.

A 4:5 crop is useful for portrait social posts, 1:1 for square placements, and 16:9 for widescreen layouts.

Before you finish

A quick check makes a better result.

OutMonkey is built to be simple enough for someone doing this once and useful enough for someone who does it every day.

What this tool is for

Resize & crop an image

Change dimensions or crop to the shape you need. The aim is a useful result without making you learn a full piece of software first.

Good to know

Keep the original until you’re happy.

Open the finished image once before you send or upload it. Check the crop, sharpness and file size at normal viewing size, not only while zoomed in.

Choose the final destination first. A crop for email, print, a profile picture and a vertical post can all need different proportions.

In plain English

You do not need to be an expert.

If you are helping someone who does not work with images every day, the destination matters more than the jargon: email, print, a website, an ID form or social media.

For most image jobs, start with where the image is going: email, print, a website, an ID form or a social platform.

File size & formats

Big images use more memory than their file size suggests.

What can I use?

JPG, PNG and WebP are the safest choices. Other image formats work when your browser can decode them.

Is there a size limit?

There is no extra OutMonkey upload-size cap in the browser interface. Very high-resolution images can still hit your browser or device memory limit, especially when enlarging them.

If the file is huge

If an enormous image will not process, use a smaller copy or reduce its pixel dimensions first. Keep the original untouched.
