Security & File Handling
What happens to my file?
OutMonkey should answer that before you trust it with anything. Here is the plain-English version.
Your file stays on your device.
This is the preferred option where practical. The browser does the work and OutMonkey does not receive the source file.
We tell you before upload.
Some future tools may need temporary server processing. When that happens, the tool will explain it before you choose or send the file.
Processing location depends on the feature.
Local AI stays on your device where supported. A hosted model will be clearly identified before processing starts.
Retention
Temporary should mean temporary.
Where a future tool requires server processing, the production page will state what is uploaded, why it is needed, how long it is kept and when it is deleted. We will not rely on vague wording like “we may retain files as necessary.”
Sensitive files
Use extra care with documents you would not want exposed.
Medical records, identity documents, financial records and confidential business documents deserve a higher level of caution. Prefer local-processing tools where possible and review the handling notice before using any server-based feature.
How the current email-photo tool works
The image is processed in your browser.
The first working OutMonkey tool uses the browser canvas to resize and compress the photo locally. It does not upload the photo to an OutMonkey server.
Try the email-photo tool →This security page will be updated whenever a tool introduces a new processing method, storage provider or retention requirement.
