This tool is for the moment when you have a receipt or invoice image and only need the useful bits in a spreadsheet, notes app or workflow. It reads the document in sections, then looks for common field labels and number patterns rather than making you manually type everything.
OCR is not reliable enough to treat money, dates or invoice numbers as unquestionable truth. Decimal points, 1 versus 7, 0 versus O and faint thermal-receipt text are common failure points. Every structured field is editable so you can compare it with the source image before exporting.
Quick splits the document into fewer sections and is best for short, clean receipts. Detailed is the balanced default. Thorough reads more sections and can help long receipts or dense invoices, but takes longer because each section is processed locally.
Copy JSON when you need structured data for code or automation, download CSV for a spreadsheet, or copy the plain-text summary when you simply need the important fields in an email, note or expense record.
The extractor is a productivity helper, not bookkeeping approval or tax advice. Always verify totals, tax amounts, dates and document numbers against the original before relying on them for accounting or reimbursement.

Best results
Verify the total, tax or GST, date, invoice or receipt number and supplier against the source image. OCR can confuse decimal points and similar-looking characters.
Use Detailed for most documents. Thorough can help long receipts, but a sharper, straighter source image usually improves accuracy more than adding extra OCR passes.

File size & formats
JPG, PNG and WebP are the safest choices. Other image formats work when your browser can decode them.
There is no extra OutMonkey upload-size cap in the browser interface. Very high-resolution images can still hit your browser or device memory limit, especially when enlarging them or running local models.
If an enormous image will not process, use a smaller copy or reduce its pixel dimensions first. Keep the original untouched.
