What good alt text does
Alt text should communicate the useful information a sighted visitor gets from the image. It is not a list of every visible object, and it does not need to begin with phrases such as “image of” or “photo of” unless that distinction matters.
Context matters more than the model
The same image may need different alt text on a product page, news story or portfolio. Add important context such as which item is being sold, what action matters, or why the image is present. Always edit the generated draft to match the page.
When not to describe an image
Purely decorative images generally work better with empty alt text so screen readers can skip them. Do not force a description onto every image just because a generator can produce one.

File size & formats

What can I use?
JPG, PNG and WebP are the safest choices. Other image formats work when your browser can decode them.
Is there a size limit?
There is no extra OutMonkey upload-size cap in the browser interface. Very high-resolution images can still hit your browser or device memory limit, especially when enlarging them or running local models.
If the file is huge
If an enormous image will not process, use a smaller copy or reduce its pixel dimensions first. Keep the original untouched.
