Smart / Local Tools

Straighten a crooked document photo.

Estimate small page tilt automatically, fine-tune the angle, clean the tones and export a more scan-like copy without uploading the image.

Step by step: 1) Auto-detect tilt. 2) Use the angle slider if text lines still lean. 3) Choose Grayscale for most paperwork, B&W for clean typed forms, or Colour when stamps/highlights matter. 4) Export and inspect the smallest text.

Private by design: straightening and cleanup happen locally in your browser.

What auto-deskew is good at

This tool is designed for small camera tilt: photographed forms, receipts, notes and pages where the text lines lean a few degrees. It tests nearby angles and looks for the correction that makes horizontal text structure strongest.

When manual adjustment is better

Perspective distortion is different from simple tilt. If one side of the page is much larger than the other, or the page was photographed from a steep angle, use the slider for the best visual correction but expect some perspective to remain.

Choose the right scan style

Grayscale is the safest general option. Black and white works well for clean typed forms and can make text crisper. Keep colour when stamps, signatures, highlights or coloured annotations carry meaning. PNG preserves crisp edges; JPG usually makes a smaller file.

What this tool does

Auto-deskew document photo

Estimate small page tilt, fine-tune the angle, clean tones and export a straighter scan locally.

The tool is designed to get that one job done without making you learn a full piece of software first.

Best results

Automatic results still need a human check.

Local models and image processing can miss edges, text, objects or subtle detail. Inspect the finished result closely.

Open the result once as the recipient will see it. That quick check catches many small mistakes.

In plain English

What matters most.

These tools run useful processing in the browser. They save time, but the result should still be treated as an assistant rather than a guarantee.

AI tools download their model on first use and local-processing tools work directly in your browser. Choose the specialist tool that best matches your subject for cleaner results.

File size & formats

Big images use more memory than their file size suggests.

What can I use?

JPG, PNG and WebP are the safest choices. Other image formats work when your browser can decode them.

Is there a size limit?

There is no extra OutMonkey upload-size cap in the browser interface. Very high-resolution images can still hit your browser or device memory limit, especially when enlarging them or running local models.

If the file is huge

If an enormous image will not process, use a smaller copy or reduce its pixel dimensions first. Keep the original untouched.
