It changes the wrapper.
A file format is the way the same underlying media is packaged and encoded. Converting changes compatibility and storage behaviour more than it changes the subject itself.

Print reality check
It is useful for quick print-prep values, but it is not an ICC-profile conversion or a contract proof. Commercial printers may ask for a specific profile such as FOGRA, GRACoL or SWOP depending on press, paper and region.
If your printer supplies an ICC profile, use that profile in a colour-managed app for the final production conversion. OutMonkey does not pretend a browser RGB swatch can reproduce press output exactly.
Useful to know
A file format is the way the same underlying media is packaged and encoded. Converting changes compatibility and storage behaviour more than it changes the subject itself.
Conversion is not enhancement. Re-encoding a poor source cannot restore missing detail, and some formats lose transparency, animation or metadata.
Use the number as a signal, then look at the real text size, weight, background and surrounding colours.
Choose the format for what happens next: JPG for ordinary photos, PNG when transparency matters, WebP/AVIF for web delivery, and keep the source if you may edit again.
