The actual file processing happens in your browser. A small number of advanced tools may load a browser helper library, but OutMonkey does not upload your file to do the job.
How file handling works →Before you finish
OutMonkey is built to be simple enough for someone doing this once and useful enough for someone who does it every day.
What this tool is for
Generate a type scale from a base and ratio. The aim is a useful result without making you learn a full piece of software first.
Good to know
Look at the result at the size it will really be used. Fonts have different proportions, so spacing that is mathematically neat can still look too tight or too loose.
Typography is partly optical. If two settings are close, choose the one that is easier to read rather than the one with the tidier number.
In plain English
Designers can use the numbers as a fast baseline. Everyone else can simply compare the previews and choose the version that is easiest to read and looks balanced.
Type maths gives you structure; the final judgment should still be optical.
