What this tool is for
DPI + print size checker
See how large an image can print clearly. The aim is a useful result without making you learn a full piece of software first.
Image & Photo
Choose the image and the print quality. OutMonkey shows the maximum sensible print size.
Good to know
The same image can be sharp at 10 cm wide and soft at poster size. This tool makes that relationship visible.
Before you finish
OutMonkey is built to be simple enough for someone doing this once and useful enough for someone who does it every day.
What this tool is for
See how large an image can print clearly. The aim is a useful result without making you learn a full piece of software first.
Good to know
Open the finished image once before you send or upload it. Check the crop, sharpness and file size at normal viewing size, not only while zoomed in.
A checker tells you what it can measure; it does not replace a final human look. Use the result to make the next decision, not as a guarantee.
In plain English
If you are helping someone who does not work with images every day, the destination matters more than the jargon: email, print, a website, an ID form or social media.
For most image jobs, start with where the image is going: email, print, a website, an ID form or a social platform.
File size & formats
JPG, PNG and WebP are the safest choices. Other image formats work when your browser can decode them.
There is no extra OutMonkey upload-size cap in the browser interface. Very high-resolution images can still hit your browser or device memory limit, especially when enlarging them.
If an enormous image will not process, use a smaller copy or reduce its pixel dimensions first. Keep the original untouched.
