What’s a Monkey, and what’s a tool?

A tool does one little job. A Monkey keeps a few tools together in the order you want to use them.

The annoying bit

You came here to fix something, not learn a new vocabulary.

In plain English

OutMonkey has lots of small tools. Each one does one focused job, like resizing an image or merging PDFs. A Monkey is what you make when one job needs more than one tool. Put the tools in order, and each tool becomes a step inside that Monkey.

  • A tool does one thing, like compress an image or make a QR code.
  • A Monkey is one saved sequence of tools for a bigger job.
  • A step is simply one tool inside that Monkey.
  • Build a Monkey once, then keep or share the URL for next time.
